For those who don’t know, we launched a campaign earlier in the year that gave the Surrey community the chance to vote for a local charity that they felt deserved to receive the money that Seymours raised – and continues to raise – in 2015.
The voting process was very simple. All people had to do was visit our website and nominate a charity that was close to their hearts via our Your Vote Counts campaign page.
Well, the deadline for nominations was the 30th October, the votes have now been counted and we are delighted to announce that Cherry Trees is the winner. In second place came Challengers whilst Jigsaw made it to third place in a campaign that received over 4,500 nominations from loyal supporters of charities – large and small - throughout Surrey.
So, what happens now? Well, as the winning prize pot is still growing and will continue to grow up until the 31st December (the final sum will comprise Seymours’ fundraising efforts from January to December), we won’t know how much Cherry Trees will receive until the New Year.
What we can say, however, is that a cheque will be presented to the winner in January 2016, on a date to be confirmed, so keep an eye out for photos and updates.
All that’s left for us to say is thank you to everyone – both the individuals and the charities themselves - who contributed to making this campaign a huge success. We never anticipated such a large response and have been genuinely overwhelmed by the feedback. Many of you really got behind Your Vote Counts and some of the campaigning and calls to action that we witnessed firsthand on social media was absolutely fantastic.
In the meantime, and as we’re nearing the festive season, everyone at Seymours would like to wish all our Your Vote Counts supporters a very Merry Christmas and we look forward to updating you in the New Year.
