Godalming is a picturesque historic market town, which traverses the River Wey in a hilly, heavily wooded part of the London commuter belt. An attractive residential town with immediate access to the A3 and a direct train to London, Godalming is a commuter town that is rapidly growing in popularity and has been ranked one of the UK’s most desirable property hotspots. In 2013 it was also judged to have the highest quality of life in Great Britain. Charterhouse, one of the great historic schools of England (and one of the nine original English public schools) is located here and there are a selection oh high-performing state schools in and around the area, which also boasts stunning small villages including Binscombe, Busbridge, Milford and Hascombe.

Godalming is a typical English market town, with a market every Friday and a selection of independent and national retailers selling clothing for all ages, shoes, watches, jewellery, fine art, books, gifts, stationery, music, guitars, computers, photography, pine furniture, antiques, flowers, hardware, food and household goods. Sainsbury’s and Waitrose are located within the centre of the town and there are numerous banks, building societies and travel agents available within walking distance of each other. There are several pubs, restaurants and cafes, occasional visiting French and Italian markets and an annual Godalming Food Festival.
