Seymours Burpham opened in 2004 and covers Burpham, Merrow, and Jacob’s Well into Sutton Green.
The resident director, Richard Stovold, has been an estate agent for 12 years and knows the area extremely well. He went to school in Surrey and lives locally.
“The Burpham office has grown consistently over the last 7 years as it subscribes to the general Seymours ethos of personal service and being passionate about the business,” he says.
“We know the stress involved in moving and so we treat our clients as we’d want to be treated ourselves. We enjoy getting repeat business where one client may have come back to us to move two or three times.
“So we pride ourselves on communicating with all parties at all times and guiding them through every stage of the transaction. That way everyone is aware of the time scale in the chain and there are no surprises. The office is staffed with people who live locally and have an in-depth knowledge of the area.
And the area has much to offer: shopping parades in both Burpham and Merrow with independent traders like the excellent fishmonger in Burpham, who is the only one in Guildford. Then there are the cricket club, a members’ gym, the two golf courses, the Sutherland Memorial Park with its sports facilities, not forgetting the River Wey walks and the Merrow Downs.
“The main thing with us in Burpham is that we’re a family market with people seeking this area in order to be close to the excellent schools like St Peter‘s, St Thomas’s, Boxgrove and Burpham Primary, and George Abbot. There are also a number of independent schools nearby,” says Richard.
Seymours Burpham are proud to sponsor some of the Burpham Under-12 football teams and we work closely with the PTAs of local schools, including George Abbot, St Peter’s and Burpham Primary.
